Saba & Avila University: Supporting the Future of Medicine Through Partnership
Saba University School of Medicine (Saba) and Avila University have launched a new pathway agreement to enhance educational opportunities for aspiring medical students. This partnership between Saba and Avila University provides a unique opportunity for graduates of Avila University Bachelor of Science degree programs to gain direct entry into Saba’s excellent 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.
Avila University Bachelor of Science graduates, who have achieved a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or equivalent, will be pre-qualified for study at Saba. Additionally, Avila graduates who pursue this pathway will receive a guaranteed partner scholarship of $10,000 USD, along with eligibility for other qualifying Saba scholarships and grants. Through this partnership and associated benefits, an exceptional medical education is all the more accessible for Avila grads.

Gerald Wargo, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Enrollment at GUS Medical and Veterinary Schools (of which Saba is a member institution), also expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, sharing: “We are proud to collaborate with Avila University. This partnership provides talented students with the opportunity to study medicine in the Caribbean and return to the U.S. or Canada for clinical training.
